Match Report

U11 Girls Football Tournament

On Tuesday 18th October pupils from Tattingstone CEVC Primary School took part in the U11 Girls Football Tournament at Whitton Sport Centre, competing in the Develop league against Whitehouse, Dale Hall B, St Pancras and Halifax B teams.

Our first game was against Whitehouse.  We lost 2-1 in a competitive game with Lucy scoring our goal and Jessica making several saves in goal.  Mrs Cocksedge and Mr Ward missed the goal as they were talking to the defence!

After a break for a couple of games, we took on Dale Hall B team in our next game.  We were glad that it wasn’t Dale Hall A as Helena and Mr Ward watched their game before!  Jessica made some good saves and the rest of the team worked hard to stop Dale Hall from scoring but 2 late goals knocked the stuffing out of us.

Our third game was a slight mis-match against St Pancras – we lost 7-0 against a strong team, despite Alexia making several saves in goal.  Whilst the loss was quite demoralising, the way in which St Pancras played against us evidently helped us in our last game against Halifax.  The girls had their best game yet, with everyone getting stuck in and supporting Lucy as the striker.  About half way through, Halifax scored when Alexia saved a shot which came back off the post, hit her and went in.  However, in the last few kicks, Lucy shot powerfully and it went in the bottom corner, giving us a 1-1 draw in a game we probably deserved to win!
