Extra Curricular Activities

(Some of the activities listed below may be subject to charge.  Please contact us for more information.)

PGL Visit

This is our biennial residential trip for our Year 5 and 6 children for an ‘adventure-study’ week at the PGL Centre at Caythorpe Court, Grantham, Lincolnshire.

The children will experience a variety of exciting physical challenges such as kayaking, abseiling, climbing, archery, fencing and an assault course.

We also hold our residential trips at the Hilltop Outdoor Centre, Sheringham.

Skiing

This club is extremely popular and is run for Key Stage 2 children after school by qualified instructors at the Suffolk Leisure Park, Wherstead (www.suffolkleisurepark.co.uk).

The courses last 6 hours over a six week period. Some of our children get very proficient at skiing and perform little jumps and skiing in formation!

Sailing

Our bi-annual sailing lessons, during curriculum time, at Alton Water are always an exciting time for our older children and sometimes we offer this as an after school club as well.

Bikeability

Every year our Year 5 children are able to undergo a course of cycle training both in the school grounds and out on the road.

Music

All pupils can learn to play the Trumpet /Cornet, Ukulule, Keyboard at school under the expert guidance of our visiting music teacher, Mr Abbott, who provides tuition at lunchtimes.

Productions, Recitals & Performances

Children at Tattingstone School have lots of opportunities to perform on stage- either singing, acting or playing musical instruments. We hold regular church services and assemblies in which children perform songs and play music. Our Family Assembly, to which all parents are invited, is held on a Thursday afternoon.
